The web we experience today is very different from most ten years ago. Think about how the internet affects our daily life, think about how society has changed as a result of the internet, social media platform, mobile app and now the internet has undergone another paradigm shift. The web is divided into three phases; web1, web2 and 3


Web 1.0

This is the first stage of the World Wide Web evolution between 1991 and 2004 as the first generation of internet, with web 1.0 users could search for information and just read it. Web pages were joined using hyperlinks with no additional visuals, interactivit, text forms or control.


At this web there were very few content creators and lots of content consumers, these readers had no option of interacting with the sites and there were lots of personal sites. The web was still in its early stages and the concept of dynamic and interactive web was not yet a reality. It is important to understand about the web 1.0 because its the foundation of the current web we have today and highlight the evolution and advancement technology that have taken place over the past few decades.

1.Static Pages

One of the defining features of web 1.0 was that most of the web pages were built with static HTML pages.


2.Website Storage

Today we use database to store website content, during the web 1.0 era content was stored directly in the website files without a separate database.


3.Web Browser Support For Proprietary HTML Tags

Web 1.0 browsers offered support for proprietary HTML tags which resulted in compatibility problems for some websites.


Web 2.0

Most of us use and enjoy web 2.0 in one way or the other. Web 2.0 was launched in December 199, in this web anybody can be a creator as thousands of web 2.0 applications are built in a way that allows anybody to create, interact, share, comment and appload files including video content for millions of people to see and also interact with.


With the advent of web 2.0 the internet become a platform for collaboration, communication and social interaction. This new era of the web brought about some key features that set it apart from wenmb 1.0 .

1.Social Networking

In this web 2.0 changes was rise of social networking sites. The sites like Facebook, Insagram, Twitter and LinkedIn allow users to connect with other share information and collaborate in real time.


2.User Generated Content

This is due to the help of tools like blogs, wikis and podcasts, users can now create, share and distribute their own content.


3.Interactivity

Users can now actively engage with web pages and applications through features like comments, ratings and voting.


4.Rich Media

Due to the advent of technologies like Adobe Flash and HTML5 web pages are now more visually appealing and engaging than ever before.


Web 3.0

This represent the shift way from the centralized architecture of the current internet to Decentralized and more open network. While web 2.0 was a great improvement to web 1.0 it introduced a new set of problems. Then with the rise of web 2.0 user generated content and social media and monetized by large technology companies.


Web 3.0 aims to solve the lack of privacy and control over personal data in the current internet. This web aims to put user to control their personal data by allowing them to own and manage in safe and decentralized way means that their data will not under any control. But the controller will be themselves.


The key features of web 3.0 

1.Blockchain

With blockchain, data is stored on a distributated ledger, making it virtually impossible to manipulate with.


2.Semantic Web

This will enable new applications and services that were previously not possible on the current internet. This is because the web 3.0 aims to make the web more machine readable and intelligent, so that computer can understand and process the data on web in a meaningful way.


Conclusion

These web are so helpful in our daily life because people can interact to each other and share different ideas even if they are far to each other. This is due to social media like Facebook, Instagram and many others that makes people come close to each other.
